「君たちはどう生きるか」をみた。
日本と英語のタイトルが全然違うんですね。
英語版だと、少年とサギ。ですからね。
そのまんまですね！
戦争時代の映像から流れるので、その時代のストーリーなのかと思いきや。
異世界ファンタジーアドベンチャーでした。
「千と千尋の神隠し」を思い浮かべましたが、どちらかというと「不思議の国のアリス」に寄っている気がしました。
前お母さんが病気で亡くなってしまい、再婚した新しい母が迷い込んでしまった異世界に主人公が探しに行くという物語の中で
このアオサギが、主人公を異世界に連れていきたくて翻弄してきます。
主人公を連れていく理由は、その異世界を構築している祖先の跡継ぎを探しているとかで、アオサギを使って現実世界でうろうろしてます。
まぁアオサギとは言うけど、その皮をかぶったオッサンです。
それが嘘つきで嫌なキャラっぽいですが、途中から友達になっていくあたりも面白いなと思いました。
宮崎駿監督の世界観は、不思議な世界なんだけどあえて説明しないところが、入り込める作品になっています。
アオサギが急にしゃべり出すところも、普通なら「なぜアオサギがしゃべってる！？」という突っ込みが入りそうですが。
それを言わないし、次々に不思議なことがあっても、一切そのことについて突っ込まない謎の世界を謎のまま楽しんでねという解釈ができます。
現実に起こっているのか、夢の中なのか、どっちなんだと視聴者に常に問いているようにも感じます。
不思議の国のアリスは、ウサギを追いかけて穴に落ちてしまって最後、起きて起きて、と夢の世界を示唆していますが、
こちらはそうではありません。
あ、でも実写版アリスは何年後かの続編で、普通に忘れていただけで本当に起こっていたことだよ。
というストーリーでしたね。
あれ、そういう設定も似てるな？笑
ストーリーは関係ないけど、たびたびいろんな作品で出てくるパンを食べるシーンは、今作も相変わらず美味しそうに描かれています。
溢れるジャムが口の周りにべったりとついて、そのパン食べてぇ～ってなります。
全体を通して、宮崎監督はファンタジーをこう描く。というアイディアがたくさん散らばっていて見ていて心が動かされます。
炎の描き方が美しかったりね。

I saw "How Do You Live?"
The Japanese and English titles are completely different.
In the English version, it's called The Boy and the Heron.
That's exactly what it sounds like!
It starts with footage from the war, so I thought it would be a story from that era, but
it was a fantasy adventure set in another world.
It reminded me of "Spirited Away," but I felt it was closer to "Alice in Wonderland."
The story is about a protagonist whose previous mother dies of illness, and her new mother, who has remarried, gets lost in an alternate world, where she goes to search for her.
This heron tries to take the protagonist with her to the other world, toying with him.
The reason it takes the protagonist with it is because it is looking for the successor to its ancestors who built the other world, and it uses the heron to roam the real world.
Well, it's called a heron, but it's actually an old man in her skin.
It seems like a lying, unpleasant character, but I thought it was interesting how they become friends along the way.
Hayao Miyazaki's worldview is mysterious, but the fact that he deliberately avoids explanations makes it easy to immerse yourself in the film.
When the heron suddenly starts talking, you'd normally expect a retort like, "Why is a heron talking!?"
But he doesn't say anything, and even as strange things happen one after another, he doesn't question them at all, which can be interpreted as meaning that you should just enjoy the mysterious world as it is.
It feels like he's constantly asking the viewer whether it's happening in reality or a dream.
In Alice in Wonderland, Alice chases the rabbit and falls down a hole, only to wake up at the end, suggesting a dream world,
but this isn't the case.
Oh, but in the live-action sequel, set several years later, it turns out that the events actually happened, and Alice had simply forgotten about them.
That was the story.
Hey, isn't that setting similar? Lol
Unrelated to the story, but the bread-eating scenes that frequently appear in various works are depicted as delicious in this film as well.
The jam overflows and sticks all over your mouth, making you want to eat that bread!
Throughout the film, Director Miyazaki is sprinkled with ideas for how he wants to depict fantasy, and it's very moving to watch.
For example, the way the flames are depicted is beautiful.
